Kindergarten:

Litter is Waste in the Wrong Place!
What is litter? What is trash? What happens to litter when we throw it on the ground? Can one little piece of litter make that big of a difference?
Join us in discovering the answers to these and other questions as we read the book The Wartville Wizard, (Don Madden) and have the students participate in "littering" the town of Wartville and practicing their Recycling With Alex the Frog.

Recycle Relay!
Have you ever wondered once and for all what can be recycled in Dallas and what can't? What really is trash and what will be turned back into a treasure?
Join us as we demonstrate our recycling knowledge by Shopping with Alex the Frog and testing our skills through a rousing game of Recycling Relay!

Second Grade:
Too Good to Throw Away!
Have you ever wondered where our "stuff" comes from and what happens to the things that you toss in the trash?
Well, you can find out by joining us on a journey through the life and times of "Everyday Things" and practicing the concept of reuse by Reusing with Alex the Frog!
Third Grade:
Plastic Numbers!
Did you know that plastics play a very big role in our society and that each plastic has a code on the bottom, which identifies its type? Do you know which ones can be recycled and which ones cannot?
Well, join us as we practice our Plastic Numbers by sorting through a pile of plastic containers and identifying them by their codes and then sorting them by which ones are recycled in Dallas. And last but not least, let’s practice the art of Water Wisdom with Alex the Frog.

Garbage by the Slice!
Have you ever heard of Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) and what it is made up of?
Well join with us and together we can differentiate between garbage and trash and then, slice by slice, represent what we throw away versus what we recycle and/or compost. Also, we will join forces with Alex the Frog on a journey toward Smart Growth.
